These terms are often mixed up. Knowing the difference helps you choose the right way to start your brand.
Private label
You sell existing styles under your own brand name and labels. It is the fastest, lowest-risk way to launch.
OEM (original equipment manufacturer)
The factory makes garments to your design and specification, usually from your tech pack.
ODM (original design manufacturer)
The factory develops the design with you or from its own patterns, and you put your brand on the result.
White label
A ready-made product with your label added, usually with limited customization.
Which should you choose?
Choose private label for speed, OEM for full creative control and ODM when you have an idea but not a finished design. Dezo Industry supports all of them. See private label clothing manufacturing.
